A goal from Saleiro, on the 35 minutes was enough to insure Sporting win on Naval’s field and reach their fifth win in the league.
After two straight defeats against Leiria (1-0), for the championship, and before Hertha (1-0) for the Europa League, Sporting returned to winning against Naval (1-0).
Sporting, this evening played with Saleiro and Liedson, revealed the usual problems that have shown throughout this time, that is, many difficulties in the transition defense-attack, so abused constantly kick forward without any success.
The only goal came on 35 minutes, Joao Moutinho crossed the ball into the area of Naval, Liedson diverted to the axle and Saleiro scored.
In the second half the game continued with gray and little cause for concern, and Sporting still created three goalscoring chances from Postiga, Adrien and Izmailov, but couldn’t add another goal.

Sporting on Saturday took their first defeat (0-1) with Carvalhal, being beaten at home by the U. Leiria. The Lions added a third defeat in the league, the second as hosts, and once again lagging behind in pursuit of the first places.
Weak performance in the first half, only stray passes and no shot on goal, ultimately dictate the fate of the lions, who called for penalty spot after 14 minutes, when André Santos was pulling Matías Fernandez shirt but Vasco Santos didn’t count anything.
Paulo Vinicius gave advantage to U. Leiria with a headed goal on 27 minutes, following a corner kick.
The team of Lito Vidigal was really the only building bids danger in the first 45 minutes, and also threatened the goal by Silas.
Sporting transfigured for the better in the second half, which brought Pereirinha and Adrien exchange for Matias Fernandez and Caneira. Lions kept searching for the goal.
U. Leiria were united and organized and knew the ways of covering their goal. The team from the city of Lis did not fail to take the risk on goal by Rui Patricio, seeing that a goal will be badly annulled for out-of-game non-existent Cassio. Previously, Tiago Luis has already threatened.
Vukcevic also came to put the ball into the net, but the Montenegrin was in offside position when turned from the heel, low shot from Izmailov.Postiga replaced Vukcevic in the 73 m putting more danger in the area.
Approaching the final whistle, the Lions have had some chances to score but the result remained unchanged.

Sporting has returned to its winning ways in Liga Sagres with a victory in Estádio do bonfim, courtesy of a Liedson brace. The number 31 opened the scoring on 4 minutes and helped himself to another on 88 minutes.
For the short trip to Setúbal, Carlos Carvalhal gave a start to Izmailov, as Postiga warmed the bench to leave Liedson leading the attack while Matias held down the middle of the field and Veloso and Izmailov frequented the flanks.
The whistle had hardly sounded before the first goal of the night found the back of the net, as a through-ball from Matias Fernandez tore through the Vitória back line to leave Liedson with the space to lash a brilliant right-footed effort out of reach of Nuno Santos.
Following the opening goal, Sporting pinned their hosts back with the help of a lot of pressure by Liedson, Matias, Veloso and Izmailov in the midfield. It wasn’t until the 19th minute, and following numerous chances on Nuno Santos’s goal, that Setúbal created their first real chance; Rui Patrício, however, pulled off a decent save following a headed effort from Keita.
As time ticked over, the quality drained out of the game, with the half-time whistle coming as a welcome relief to the occupants of Estádio Bonfim.
For the second-half, Carvalhal brought Pereirinha on for Izmailov; it was, in fact, the under-21 international starlet that was next to threaten the net of Nuno Santos. The chance came following a superb pass from Moutinho, however the shot lacked strength and was clawed back by Zoro just before it crossed the line.
With Vitória searching for an equaliser, Djikiné could have got onto the night’s score sheet. Rui Patrício, however, was in typical form and pulled off a fantastic save to deny the effort. The game began to peter out as it had in the first-half, until a red card was shown to André Pinto on 65 minutes. Postiga came in in the 70 mintues replacing Matias Fernandez. With more space available, Sporting began to rain down efforts on goal. However, it wasn’t until the 88th minute that the game was put to bed. A calamitous error from Nuno Santos following a mix up over a call for an offside decision gifted Liedson his second goal of the night. In the end, it was a deserved victory for Sporting following an uninspiring evening.
